3 funding schemes are available:
• Competency development plan
This plan combines all training actions defined within the company staff management policy. Companies with annual contributions higher than the minimum legal and conventional rates are beneficiaries of additional training aids.
How does it all work?
If you are an employee:
Professional contributions in favor of competency development allow all companies under the 50employee mark to finance every training action defined within article L6313-2 of French labor code. Consult with your employer, HR department or corresponding competent organizations for more information.
If you are an occasional worker:
Provided that you completed a minimum of 2 years as an occasional worker and the amount of fees earned or days worked as required by your respective occupational category, your tuition is likely to be fully covered by the AFDAS within competency development plan framework. In case you do not meet these conditions within the last 24 months, consult with an AFDAS adviser to consider alternative financing schemes.
• CPF personal training account – formerly DIF (individual right to training)
This account system allows workers to accumulate training hours on a basis of 24 hours per year worked as for the 120-hour maximum or 12 hours per year worked as for the 150-hour maximum.
All DIF hours formerly accumulated until December 2014 are credited into CPF system, while the total accumulation cannot overstep the 150-hour limit. If applicable to you, DIF hours formerly accumulated are yours to report on www.moncompteformation.gouv.fr based on last proof of DIF hours balance received.
While DIF system had no restriction on training pathways, under CPF the worker is only entitled to training programs listed on the official records collectively drawn up by management and labor, and necessarily resulting in the obtention of a diploma, a job title, a French CQP (professional qualification certificate), credentials and so on.

• CPF- TP account for work transition – formerly CIF (individual training leave)
This account is fully under the initiative of the employee, designed to allow professional development, change of career or sector, qualification acquisition or upgrading. Any CPF-TP request must be submitted to the FONGECIF 3 months before the training starting date.

Who is eligible to CPF-TP?
All employees can claim rights to CPF-TP provided that they fulfil the required minimal length of service as an employee (set by decree, but still to be issued to date). Are excluded however, beneficiaries of OETH (obligation to employ disabled workers) and all individuals who did not take a training after dismissal for inadequacy or economic redundancy.
When to use your CPF-TP?
CPF-TP only applies to a certifying training program taken within a work transition context.
What are the necessary steps for a CPF-TP request?
The employee can benefit from a CEP career development accompaniment for the training project. The CEP operator ought to inform, guide and help the employee in the formalizing of the project and ultimately provide a funding plan proposal.
The employee is then entitled to an initial review of all professional skills and experience acquired that would allow an alleviation on the duration of the suggested training.
The training project is finally submitted to the CPIRs (regional inter-professional joint committees) so as to:
1- assess the relevance of the project and the skills initial review;
2- examine the funding application;
3- authorize the project implementation and funding;
4- ensure the administrative management of the project.
Upon completion of this process, the applicant will be notified of the substantiated decision.
All the exact operational modalities of this new administrative machinery will be issued by decree soon.

A full year of professional training with two paths of specialization.
This program is intended for trainees who, having completed the first year of amplified contemporary music professional training, are eager to optimize their professional career by furthering three major areas:
– Technique, practice and theory of their respective instrument coupled with new technologies;
– Professional projects – creation and completion;
– Train-the-trainer education aimed at the monitoring of contemporary music leisure activities (NETWORK path) or specialized education centered on jazz music diverse world (JAZZ path).
As a student of this program, you will go through the core curriculum and additionally have to choose between the NETWORK or JAZZ course paths. As a result, the training timetable adds up to 28 hours of learning per week. After the first sixth months of training, groups will practice during workshops dedicated to Create/Compose/Develop Personal Projects that will be inserted in the curriculum.
A) THE CORE CURRICULUM 16H/WEEK
16 hours of lecturing every week, bringing together students from both course paths for the purpose of synergizing and mutually complementing their musical aestheticism, while stimulating their musical creativity.
The use of both computer and electronic music is particularly emphasized in this program, for a perfected musical identity and enhanced artistic potential in every student, advanced technique and multi-style practice that will put forward their polyvalence while solidifying their uniqueness and playing singularity. All the way one ultimate goal: MAKING YOU AN ADAMANTLY MODERN AND INVENTIVE MUSICIAN!
B) “JAZZ” COURSE PATH 12H/WEEK
Jazz music is so demanding that it necessitates specific learning methods. As a student in this program your music practices will be whet towards jazz codes and vocabulary in all their variety through lessons of technique, music education, analysis and group practice.
Here at the MAI, jazz reunites with its original codes: nonconformity! Electro-jazz, trip hop, fusion and creativity all along are on the agenda.
C) “NETWORK” COURSE PATH 12H/WEEK
MAI oversees a national and international network of contemporary music leisure teaching labelled “MAI Network”. Its mission is to showcase a large number of existing and projected schools headed by our alumni and/or particular instructors whose teaching quality align with MAI pedagogy standards.
Several technical and pedagogical refresher courses are hosted for teachers of these schools, while they are offered with greater exposure through the MAI portal: www.maifrance.com.
